Learning singing technique is fundamentally about the 'freeing-up' your own authentic voice, and understanding how your individual body creates sound. It is about acquiring skills to enjoy the process of singing more. All teaching handouts, lyric and music are provided, and both adults and children can be taught. Lessons are individually tailored, fun and empowering.

- Emotional connection &ndash making the song your own
- Understanding of musical genres and their particular requirements
- Microphone technique
- Performance skill's and stage craft
I believe passionately in the human need/right to express oneself fully through song and teach anyone with the desire to sing or sing better- from professionals to shower divas!
I am formally trained in bio-laryngeal mechanics and standard vocal technique, and recognize the absolutely necessity of a solid grounding for all singers. In this capacity I have been employed as Voice Coach for musicals, TV series and summer schools for Musical Theatre, and I also teach at the Performing Arts School of New Zealand (see www.pasnz.co.nz)
My passion for the magic of sound, including training in and an awareness of sound healing, has led me to embrace and specialise in a more holistic model of voice teaching that is individually tailored to each pupil, and is rooted firmly in the creating of a safe environment and psychological space to facilitate full expression.
I believe that the body is the original instrument. To further extend my knowledge and to be a better teacher I have formally trained in yoga, including anatomy and physiology. I use many of the breathing techniques and body awareness that yoga brings, and, if the pupil is comfortable, suggest postures that are particularly beneficial to the throat area.
I truly love teaching and seek to bring an awareness of the transformative power of music to every pupil I coach individually or lead in a group.
